Our good friends Adrian and Christie had their Hindu wedding ceremony on Sunday. The backyard was tented and had beautiful scarves from India drapped all around.
Before the ceremony started my best friend Jennie (on the left) and I (the right) went to visit the bride to keep her company.
The rain poured down on us all afternoon but the music and the drums lifted our spirits. The ceremony started an hour late (due to electrical issues) and lasted a good 3.5 hours. It was my first Hindu wedding and I was very intrigued by all that was done.
The parents blessing the bride and groom individually, the praise to the elements and the Gods for making it all possible, the vows and promises made by the couple and then the celebration and welcoming of the bride and groom into each others family.
It was a wonderful day, despite the rain and cold weather. Congratulations to the happy couple.
