Reno in Progress

The Reno has begun!

Above is an image of the closet minus some of the trim. This was the first time I have ever removed trim. Not only was it easier than I thought, it was therapeutic and fun.

All by myself I measured and cut drywall to fit the opening and screwed it all into place.

Next, dad advised me [from a previous discussion], to install the metal corner to make plastering easier. So I measured, cut and nailed that up too all on my own.

The plastering, or mudding, was the hardest part. I still need to sand it, however I'm thinking now that we will be installing recessed panelling, it might be better to finish around the opening again with new trim. So much for my clean smooth look. Well you never know, I always change my mind :) the finish could be great and I could want to show it off.

I know it is so fun to remove trim , can't wait to see what you are up to why no trim around the opening of the closet , what are you planning on putting in there???
